The Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels (owner and operator of The Peninsula Hotels) is proud to partner with The Home and Youth Affairs Bureau to offer an exclusive 8–12-week corporate summer internship programme at The Peninsula Beijing and The Peninsula Shanghai between June to August 2025.

The programme allows students to gain operational experience whilst building essential skills and knowledge within luxury hospitality. Tailored training and orientations will be available to help set students up for a successful journey.

The Peninsula Beijing offers a spacious and luxurious all-suite hotel in the heart of China’s dynamic capital. Located just steps from the Forbidden City, the hotel combines timeless Chinese artistry and craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology. The Peninsula Shanghai is the Comapny's flagship property in Mainland China, and at the time of opening, the hotel was the first new-build on the historic Bund in over 70 years.​

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Passionate about luxury hospitality
Excellent interpersonal skills with guests and colleagues
A strong team player, people with a service-oriented approach
Good communication skills (in Mandarin and English)
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications is preferred, e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Available for an 8 to 12-week full-time Internship.   

The Scheme on Corporate Summer Internship 2025 is a joint initiative between the HKSAR Government, The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels (HSH) and other major companies in Hong Kong. Applicants who are interested in applying for internship placement offered by HSH under the Scheme should submit the application through the Government's central online application system (www.ydc.gov.hk/scsi/) by 23:59 on 10 March 2025 HKT. HSH will not accept applications direct at this stage.

  • Food & Beverage Internship (Beijing and Shanghai)

    Maintain premium service quality and demonstrate excellent product knowledge to Food & Beverage guests.

    Explain the menus and provide recommendations on food and beverage items in a professional manner.

    Be familiar with the operational systems and assist with guest communications and feedback collection.

  • Rooms Internship (Beijing and Shanghai)

    Provide warm welcome, and premium services for all guests, ensuring engaging interactions and personalised service.

    Escort guests to their assigned rooms and introduce the hotel, and room facilities. Be familiar with the operational systems utilised by the Rooms Division.

    Be able to understand the working procedures of SPA and Wellness department.

  • Sales & Marketing Internship (Beijing)

    Understand and support the initiatives across Sales, Revenue, Reservations and Communications functions.

    Perform tracking of business trends to facilitate sales analysis and development planning. Support the Event Sales Manager in preparing agreements and guest appointments.

    Assist the Communications Manager in arranging media interviews and photo & video shootings.

    Coordinate reservation requests and communicate the requirements with respective departments.

  • Engineering Internship (Beijing)

    Develop a good understanding of various equipment, electronic devices, air-conditioning, refrigerating systems and mechanical operations.

    Support the economic and operational efficiency of the Engineering Division. Ensure a consistency of safety rules, emergency procedures and fire prevention regulations are strictly enforced.

    Provide excellent services to hotel guests and customers.
