Director of Learning & Development

Business Unit:  The Peninsula Tokyo

Working alongside a wonderful team at The Peninsula Tokyo, we are seeking a Director of Learning & Development to achieve the company’s objectives and create a memorable guest experience.

  • We provide Basic Salary per Month. Bonus 2 times per Year, Pay Increase 1time per Year. Commutation Fee (Max JPY30000 per Month), Overnight Pay. Provide Days-off per Shift, Annual Leave, Special Public Holidays, Life-Work-Balance Leave, Paternity Leave. Entitle Retirement Plan. Enroll Social and Labor Insurance.

Key Accountabilities


  • Development of L&D Strategic Plan.
  • Facilitates planning sessions with the team to establish well-thought action plans and tactics that will support the overall goal of Hotel and Human Resources.
  • Incharge of the development, communication and implementation of the Hotel’s Annual Learning and Development Plan based on HSH global learning plan and the Hotel’s training and development needs.
  • Training Organization, Conduct and Evaluation.
  • Conducts and facilitates training programs in accordance to the standards.
  • Provides assistance to colleagues to deliver excellent service to guests.
  • Performs other training-related and human resources tasks as may be assigned by Director of Human Resources, including employee engagement activities, recruitment activities and other HR tasks as needed.
  • Budget Preparation and Management.
  • Monitoring of Development Program.

General Requirements


  • University degree in Training and Development, or Human Resources, or English Education or hospitality management or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 7-year Training and Development practical experience, of which 3 years in managerial position from multinational companies or hospitality operations.
  • Fluent English speaker and preferably Japanese with great respect for Japanese culture 5-star hotel working experience will be an advantage.
