Director of Finance

Working alongside The Peninsula Shanghai's executive team, we seek a Director of Finance responsible for all accounting, purchasing, and asset control services.

Key Accountabilities

• Lead and oversee the finance team, including accounting, procurement and information technology functions, in achieving the organization's strategic goals and enhancing financial performance.
• Formulate a strategic financial plan and lead the team to ensure revenue forecasts, cost control and budgetary activities are adhered and achieved as per finance's requirements.
• Use financial analysis, data trends and market information to anticipate needs, identify operating/financial issues, and recommend actions to the Executive Committee and General Manager to maximize financial return.
• Maximise cash flow performance of the hotel through controls on inventory (avoid excessive supply), credit and collection, disbursements, and deposits.
• Lead the procurement function by reviewing all purchase requisitions and approving all purchases in view of the availability of funds, necessity and the budget.
• Analyse ROI for capital projects before committing funds and, upon completion, determine if anticipated results were achieved.
• Accountability for all legal and regulatory requirements across all jurisdictions.

General Requirements

• More than 10 years of professional experience, preferably in the hospitality and service industry
• Fluent Putunghua both spoken and written
• Experience leading a hotel as Director of Finance in China
• Full understanding of PRC tax and foreign exchange regulation
• Build strong rapport with relevant government bureaus and banks.
• Analytical with good business acumen, influential, a good persuader
• Positive and approachable, analytical, and influential with solid conflict resolution, communication and leadership skills
• Working experience with all Microsoft applications and relevant accounting and finance systems
