Key accountabilities:

 

  • Is accountable for the efficient operations of of Banquet functions while ensuring the provision of quality food and beverage service as an industry leader
  • Always ensures the delivery of exceptional guest service in keeping with the Peninsula Service Principles: providing friendly, yet discreet and unobtrusive service with all guests.
  • Ensures the monthly and annual revenue targets are met, liaising with Sales/Catering team and ensures productivity levels are concurrently met
  • Handles all guest and internal customer complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, following through to make sure issues are resolved satisfactorily.
  • Understands all food and beverage items ordered, including ingredients, methods of preparation and proper service.
  • Monitors the management and organization of functions and events, coordinating clients requirements with the other departments in the operation
  • Hires, develops, motivates, and performance manages their department employees

 

 

General requirements:

 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to anticipate their customers’ needs
  • Fluent both in English and French – a third language is appreciated
  • 2 years as Banquet Manager or 4 years as Assistant banquet manager experience
  • Well organized, highly detailed and with a sense of urgency and self-motivation
  • Previous experience in a hotel of a similar standing
  • Knowledge of control costs.
  • Thorough knowledge in costing and pricing of food and beverage items
