Purchasing Officer

Overview of the role

 

We are looking for a passionate individual who will be responsible for the procurement of items by using Birchstreet System and ensuring timely delivery, conformity to specifications and most competitive pricing.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensures that the Group Purchasing Tendering Policy (PTP) is being adhered to when doing the procurement process.
  • Ensures that the item conforms to the required standards of quality and quantity at the lowest possible cost.
  • Ensures that all samples sent to end users have forms to fill it up if the item is approved or not.
  • Encodes all new items in BSS for all approved samples provided by vendors.
  • Ensure that all REQs and POs will be sent to vendors daily.

 

General Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Financial Management
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar capacity in the hospitality industry
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
  • Analytical, with good business acumen
  • Influential, a good persuader
