Director of Catering & Events

The Peninsula London is seeking to hire a Director of Catering and Events who has strong experience opening luxury hotels and managing high profile events.

Key accountabilities


  • Solicits events and banquets business to drive event bookings in order to achieve annual event revenue targets.
  • Develops the event and banquet sales strategy, promotions, activities, and budget to support the DOSM in preparing the annual marketing plan and budget.
  • Increases event revenue through effective upselling techniques.
  • Supports revenue management, digital marketing, and public relations in developing room and banquet offerings whilst supporting the food & beverage and spa departments to achieve revenue and marketing goals.
  • Oversees the banquet and event set-up and facilitation of vendors.


General requirements


  • Minimum 5 years with previous sales, banquet, events, conference services and marketing experience (ideally within the luxury hotel segment).
  • Is a natural organiser, highly detailed and able to engage with guests and clients.
  • Strong people leader having prior experience manage diverse teams.
  • Fluent English language skills, and presentation ability.
  • Self-starter, creative, and financial acumen (budgeting)

The Peninsula London, located at 1-5 Grosvenor Place in Belgravia, will overlook Hyde Park Corner, the Wellington Arch, Green Park and the gardens of Buckingham Palace. Upon completion, the hotel will have 190 guestrooms with 25 luxury Peninsula-branded residential apartments. The construction budget for the project is in the region of £800 million and our ambition is for the hotel and residences to set new standards in luxury and service in the London market.
