Duty Engineer Plant & Back of House

The Peninsula London is seeking to hire Duty Engineers (Plant & Back of House) who will take pride in ensuring the good maintenance of the Hotel and the Residences through carrying out day to day tasks and projects, both in planned and reactive maintenance.

Key accountabilities

 

  • Manages proper operation of the physical plant and all engineering facilities of the entire property in accordance with established policies and procedures, maintenance programme and operation schedule including but not limited to: House Rules and Regulation, Health and Safety, Emergency Response and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Cooperate and co-ordinate with Duty Manager, other engineers and external contractors whenever necessary and interacts with other departments (e.g. Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, SPA) to ensure all reported defects (verbal & HOTSOS) are rectified to a high standard and to provide additional or specialized guest services.
  • Provide excellent guest service and all tasks are actioned to a high-quality standard.
  • Performs duties and responsibilities as directed by Director of Engineering, Assistant Director of Engineering, other senior team members, as well as all  other assigned reasonable duties in case of emergency or necessity.

 

General requirements

 

  • Minimum 3 years in a similar role within a similar environment.
  • Trade certified or NVQ level Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Good understanding of building service and relevant rules & regulations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively. Good problem-solving skills, organised and detail oriented.
  • Fluent English communication proficiency.
