Director of Sales

Business Unit:  The Peninsula London Corporate Office

Located in the highly prestigious Belgravia district of London, The Peninsula London is seeking to hire a passionate and proactive Director of Sales who has strong experience opening luxury hotels, cultivating commercial networks and achieve revenue targets.

Key accountabilities

 

  • Manage the hotel’s tactical sales strategy to ensure the commercial objectives of the business are achieved.
  • Ensure the sales team is aligned and the hotel’s positioning adheres to the overall S&M annual strategy across all segments.
  • Support revenue management, digital marketing and public relations peers in developing room, F&B, wellness, events and social promotion programmes to achieve revenue generating targets.
  • Direct and manage the forecasting process in conjunction with the Revenue Department to ensure accurate, timely and complete information.
  • Lead, develop and mentor the sales team so they are well equipped, motivated and able to outperform all metrics including both financial and non financial such as career development.

 

General requirements

 

  • Minimum 5 years in the luxury hotel segment in the capacity of Director of Sales.
  • Experience managing all hotel sales segments and feeder markets such as Intra-Europe, Asia and the US.
  • Fluent English language proficiency.
  • Confidence interacting with high profile guests, VIP’s and industry partners., in addition to representing the hotel at sales events and conferences.
  • Able to cultivate warm and productive industry relationships, as well as leading and mentoring the sales team.
  • Exceptional personal presentation as this role will be a brand ambassador.

The Peninsula London, located at 1-5 Grosvenor Place in Belgravia, will overlook Hyde Park Corner, the Wellington Arch, Green Park and the gardens of Buckingham Palace. Upon completion, the hotel will have 189 guestrooms with 26 luxury Peninsula-branded residential apartments. The construction budget for the project is in the region of £800 million and our ambition is for the hotel and residences to set new standards in luxury and service in the London market.
