Jr. Sommelier

Key accountabilities
- Supporting the Head Sommelier in developing our food and wine pairings and providing wine knowledge and training to the Front-of-House team
- Assisting in management of the wine list and cellar.
- Observe and maintain the daily condition of all physical facilities and equipment in The Lobby restaurant.
- Establish and maintain positive guest and colleague interactions with productive working relationships.
- Understand and accurately follow the procedures to ensure compliance with set operational policies and standards.
- Actively work on the floor selling wine to guests, guiding guests through the wine list, and making recommendations based on guest preferences and menu selections, while maintaining a professional approach regarding price sensitivity
- Present guests with wine lists, assist with their selections to ensure a proper food and wine match, and encourage them to experiment with new wines.
General requirements
- Having good knowledge of food.
- Being knowledgeable about wines and alcoholic beverages.
- Having strong customer service skills.
- At least 1 year of experience in a food and beverage sales point (hotel-based or independent) with similar standards and expectations.
- Familiarity with service protocols and 5-star service standards.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
