Assistant Director of Sales - China

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Director of Sales (ADOS) or Business Development Director to lead sales efforts targeting the Chinese-speaking market at our luxury hotel in Bangkok. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Mandarin and bring proven sales expertise within the hospitality sector. Bangkok experience is preferred, though not required. This role is pivotal in driving revenue growth from key Chinese-speaking market segments, including Leisure, Corporate, and MICE.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to drive room nights and revenue from Chinese-speaking markets, including China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and other Mandarin-speaking regions.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key corporate clients, travel agencies, wholesalers, and tour operators in the Chinese-speaking market.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Sales to achieve annual sales targets and meet market-specific KPIs.
  • Represent the hotel in trade shows, exhibitions, and other promotional events targeting Chinese-speaking clients.
  • Develop tailored proposals and presentations in Mandarin for corporate and group clients.
  • Coordinate with marketing teams to localize digital and print marketing materials, ensuring they appeal to the Chinese-speaking audience.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and potential opportunities within the Chinese-speaking segments.
  • Work closely with the Revenue Management and Reservations teams to ensure competitive pricing strategies for this market.
  • Monitor and analyze market performance, adjusting strategies as needed to optimize revenue growth.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and represent the hotel brand with professionalism and cultural sensitivity.
  • Mentor and train junior team members as needed, ensuring they can effectively support sales efforts in this market.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality or a related field.
  • 5+ years of sales experience in the hospitality industry or a related field, with a focus on the Chinese-speaking market.
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
  • Proven ability to meet sales targets and manage client relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of the luxury hospitality sector is a plus.
  • Bangkok experience is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and networking skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing market dynamics.
  • Willingness to travel for business and represent the hotel in international markets.
