Senior Manager, Learning and Talent Development

The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels (owner and operator of The Peninsula Hotels, The Repulse Bay and many high-profile assets globally) is seeking to hire a Senior Manager, Learning & Talent Development, based in our Corporate office located in Central, Hong Kong. This critical position plays a key role in developing our talent to their fullest potential and implementing learning and development initiatives to meet operational needs and global learning & talent development strategy.

Key Accountabilities

  • Be the key administrator of the Company’s Learning Management System (LMS) and providing technical support and ongoing training to global L&D members.
  • Using training data, design, curate and optimise the usage of content of the Learning Management System to make it more engaging and efficient for employees’ usage.
  • To ensure all compliance trainings are relevant and up to date and enrolled through the LMS.
  • Assist in the development and facilitation of HSH foundational and global programmes.
  • Manage Global L&D budget team and to develop a robust Global and Head office annual L&D plan and calendar.
  • Monitor and update commonly used training presentations and L&D resources and materials to ensure information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Assist in the internal communication of L&D engagement activities for the global L&D community.
  • Conduct needs assessment, research suitable training programmes, manage nomination, coordinate with facilitators, evaluate programme effectiveness and transfer of learning for Head Office and Operations.
  • Support perfect opening of new properties, create robust L&D programme and sustainable plan.
  • Manage the Corporate Management Trainee Programme, Emerging Management Programme and any other young talent/ High Potential programme.
  • Performs any duties as assigned by Director, Learning and Talent Development.

 

General requirements

  • University degree holder with Train-the-Trainer Certification(s) (Management Essentials, Situational Leadership, Everything DISC).
  • Over 10 years of work experience in Learning & Development with over 5 years of talent management experience in a regional role within sizable corporates.
  • Proficient in SAP LMS.
  • Familiar with various supervisory and leadership programs, with the ability to deliver and coordinate them effectively.              
  • Experienced in annual training planning, budgeting and internal cross charging.
  • Proficient in administration and documentation using MS Office and related apps, including SharePoint, Canvas.
  • Prior experience in executive coaching and microlearning design is highly desirable, however not essential.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, time management and planning skills.
  • Fluency in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
  • Occasional travelling is required.
