Assistant Director, Technology Business Analyst

The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels (owner and operator of The Peninsula Hotels, The Repulse Bay and many high-profile assets globally) is seeking to hire an Assistant Director, Technology Business Analyst to join the Information Technology Department, based in our Corporate office located in Central, Hong Kong. This role will be a change agent across functional, operational and technology stakeholders to drive business processes improvement and enhance customer experience through Technology.

Key Accountabilities

• Lead and facilitate discussions with business users and IT project managers to document requirements, user stories and develop backlogs in order to meet business objectives
• Understand, document and analyse business flow, system and data to capture current state, recommend innovative solutions and assist to create new business processes as part of projects involving Technology
• Assist to develop detailed technical feature functionality requirement documents, assist in driving system changes, tracking and monitoring deliverables with relation to fulfilling business needs
• Assist to develop supportive documentation including but not limited to, user guides, support documents and interface specification documents
• Works closely with vendors on systems design & enhancements; prepare functional requirements documentation and coordinate request for proposals when required 
• Collaborating closely with business users and IT teams to facilitate user testing exercises, including the development of UAT test plan and smoke test cases, to ensure that all enhancements/changes are met and verified
• Maintain a close partnership across the IT organisation involving:
  • Technology Solutions – to align on standard and scalable technology approaches to solving business needs.
  • Technology Security – to ensure all identified platforms & technologies are properly vetted for proper control of data and system integrity.
  • Technology Services – to ensure the chosen platforms are supportable according to business expectations and properly transitioned to a scalable support model post-implementation.

General requirements

• University degree holder in Information Technology or relevant discipline
• 8+ years’ of IT relevant working experience, preferably gained from hospitality industry
• Good knowledge of IT technology platforms, Microsoft Office suite, project management tools and cloud/On-Prem system architecture.
• Familiar with hospitality software solutions and integration
• Experience with technical document writing
• Good project and change management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal users and external vendors
• A team player, self-initiative, innovative with strong froward-thinking mindset.
• Good command of written and spoken of Chinese and English
