Director of People and Culture

Business Unit:  The Repulse Bay
Location:  Hong Kong SAR

The Repulse Bay, a prestigious iconic residential and commercial asset located on the southside of Hong Kong Island, is seeking to hire a strategic Director of People and Culture (HR) to support our operations, comprising of a luxurious apartments, commercial, retail and F&B operations. This position requires a leader who is adept at managing and implementing various HR projects aimed at driving change, including processes transformation, technology adoption, talent development, and other HR initiatives.

 

  • This is an influential leadership position suited to a commercially savvy HR Leader.
  • Plan, develop and evaluate the organization's human resource function and performance.
  • HSH Group comprises of The Peninsula Hotels, The Peak Tram and Tower and many other high profile assets globally.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance in people and culture by overseeing talent acquisition, talent development, succession planning, retention, rewards, training, and adherence to legislation to successfully manage this real estate focused operation.
  • Act as a strategic human capital business advisor to the senior management team, providing commercial advice, especially regarding workforce planning.
  • Utilize local knowledge to design a rewards programmes that positions the asset as an employer of choice.
  • Collaborate closely with the leadership team, managers, and team members to foster an empathetic, commercial, guest-focused, and family-oriented working environment.
  • Partner with the corporate office to implement HR projects including systems.
  • Ensure HR data integrity and confidentiality, while effectively communicating HR initiatives with the leadership team and acting as a people coach.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and legislation across the operation.

 

General Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Director of HR, ideally within the property, hospitality, aviation, or retail sectors.
  • Proven ability to guide the HR department within a large operation (minimum 200 head count workforce).
  • Knowledge of Hong Kong labour laws
  • Experience with HR change management and transformation
  • Proficient in analyzing complex data to provide detailed commercial advice.
  • Fluent in English and Cantonese
