Senior Legal Counsel
The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels (owner and operator of The Peninsula Hotels, The Repulse Bay and other high-profile assets) is seeking to hire a Senior Legal Counsel to manage the legal and compliance risks, support the Company’s projects and expansion, and to assist Group General Counsel in leading the Company Secretarial and Legal team.

Key Accountabilities
- Advise on the latest legal and compliance developments, and understand internal controls, risk management, and insurance matters.
- Provide legal advice and risk analysis on new projects, and negotiate management agreements, joint ventures, and corporate transactions.
- Lead projects and programmes in response to legal and market changes, and collaborate with and influence other functions to achieve compliance.
- Supervise the company's trademark strategy and handle intellectual property and licensing issues.
- Take a risk-based approach in providing legal advice, support contract finalisation, and enhance efficiency through technology.
- Responsible for litigation, dispute resolution, and negotiation matters, while managing stakeholders and external counsel.
- Support the Group General Counsel in setting strategic goals for the department, guiding and mentoring team members, and assisting with change management projects.
Requirements
- BA in Law, PCLL or equivalent
- Common law jurisdiction qualification, PQE 7 or above, with a corporate/transactional background
- Substantive in-house experience in the Hospitality, Real Estate, or Property Management sector is required
- Understanding of HK Listing Rules and IP law knowledge are highly desirable
- Ability to influence and communicate effectively with executive level management and third-party business partners
- Fluency in English; an additional language is an advantage
