Stewarding Attendant

Business Unit:  The Peninsula New York

The Stewarding Attendant will assist in ensuring smooth operation of the sections appointed in the Stewarding division within the Kitchen and other outlet areas. He / she will ensure efficiency, engagement and supports the team to deliver high standards of service, cleanliness, hygiene, and safety.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Ensures the maintenance of the hotel and department regulations, policies and procedures including but not limited to: House Rules and Regulation, Health and Safety, Emergency Response and Standard Operations Procedures.
  • Is responsible for ensuring the impeccable maintenance and cleanliness of the hotel’s back of house facilities.
  • Ensures completion of daily and monthly checklists and walkthroughs and routine preventative maintenance schedules. Supervises the completion of all maintenance improvements.
  • Ensures the cleanliness, tidiness, and material/equipment adequacy of the area in which he is in charge.
  • In line with the previous point, maintains high standards and minimal breakage.
  • Ensures the hotels waste removal and recycling programmes and supports the Vision 2030 Community and Social Responsibility Objectives for the Stewarding Department.
  • Is proficient in all Conference and Banqueting set ups and can execute the plan for set up and tear down as needed to cover.

 

General Requirements:

 

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Food & Beverage outlet with similar standards and expectations (Hotel based or Standalone).
  • Good organization skills & Time management and good hands-on service.
  • Caring for team and guests and excellent communication skills. Good collaboration skills with others.
  • Able to train and motivate team to deliver exceptional service encounters.
