Night Manager

Business Unit:  The Peninsula New York

The Night Manager is accountable for ensuring the integrity of Peninsula service standards during the overnight shift across all departments.  This position is the management representative for the entire property during the shift and is therefore also responsible for safeguarding the property and guest assets.

 

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Ensure efficient provision of hotel services during overnight shift.
  • Oversee and ensure efficient operations of all departments including Front Desk, Front Services, Housekeeping, Engineering, PBX, and Risk Management.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of hotel guests and hotel assets.
  • Assists the Front Office Management team in leading and managing all areas of Front Office Department to ensure the highest levels of Peninsula Standards are met consistently.
  • Supervises front office team members to ensure all guest interactions are personalized and efficient during guest check in/out telephone service and throughout the guests stay.
  • Manages the process of check in by securing proper identification and form of payments are established upon guest registration.
  • Oversee and manage all overnight VIP guest arrivals and departures ensuring all expectations are met consistently.
  • Provide a high level of service and maintain a high profile in the day-to-day front office operations leading by example.
  • Ensure that all internal audit procedures and pertinent reports are completed daily.
  • Ensure that accommodations for all guests arriving overnight or early the next morning have been secured.

 

General Requirements:

 

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Front Office Management role in a luxury hotel.
  • University degree or higher in Hospitality Mangement or relevant field.
  • Ability to communicate well with all levels of management, staff, and guests.
  • Self-starter; creative; independent, but team oriented.
  • presentation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to mentor, innovator, and be energetic.
