House Attendant

Business Unit:  The Peninsula New York
Location:  New York

House Attendants are responsible for cleaning all assigned areas, including guest room floors and designated back-of-house spaces. Consistently provides warm, professional, and personalized service to guests, ensuring a seamless and positive experience throughout their stay.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Clean and maintain guest hallways, service landings, stairwells, service elevators, and storage rooms.
  • Dust and clean all furniture, fixtures, hallway phones, mirrors, lamps, pictures, and ice machines.
  • Reposition misplaced furniture and clean service landing doors and kick plates regularly.
  • Report any deficiencies, damages, recurring issues, missing or broken items, stains, or unusual circumstances to the Supervisor or Housekeeping Management.
  • Implement VIP designation procedures in line with the Peninsula Service Principles and Standards.
  • Forward all lost and found items to the housekeeping office or Security.
  • Follow all emergency regulations and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Respond to guest requests within 10 minutes, using names discreetly and presenting items professionally.

 

General Requirements:

 

  • 2 to 3 years' experience in a similar role; preferably in a luxury hotel.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work as a team and with a diverse team.
  • Ability to communicate and read effectively in English.
  • Standing up to 8 hours and ability to lift 30lbs
