Director of Sales
The Peninsula New York hotel is seeking an enthusiastic, and driven, Director of Sales, to oversee the hotel’s sales efforts (rooms, meetings, events, etc.) and to lead sales team to achieve goals and competitive market share. Assists Director of Sales & Marketing in all matters and oversees department in Director of Sales & Marketing’s absence. Liaise with Peninsula Group Head Office in Hong Kong and locally to maximize business potential. Works with local and overseas corporate companies and travel agencies to maximize business.
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop and maintain relationship with key accounts.
- Analyze market data and use it to develop methods for meeting financial targets, designing marketing plan deliverables, and developing an annual sales forecast.
- Lead and manage sales team -- motivate, develop, and monitor daily activities and progress.
- Design and implement sales strategies to achieve high occupancy and profitability.
- Work closely with the Director of Revenue Management to identify business opportunities across all segments.
- Assist Director of Sales Marketing with annual sales & marketing plan, performance reviews, goal setting. Manage P&L.
- Plan and implement rooms and meetings & events promotions.
- Report on sales activities for the previous and future weeks in meetings with department leaders and prepare a monthly expense report for all hotel sales-related expenditures.
- Responsible for sales activity in domestic and international markets.
General Requirements:
- Ability and knowledge to sell luxury hotel to corporate, group, and travel industry markets.
- Key contacts both domestic and international are preferred.
- At least 3-4 years’ experience selling in a luxury hotel setting.
- Previous Director of Sales experience is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and management skills.
