Assistant Restaurant & Bar Manager

The Assistant Restaurant & Bar Manager will work closely with the Restaurant & Bar Manager to ensure that the operations in the restaurant and bar run smoothly and efficiently. In this role the Assistant Restaurant & Bar Manager will be responsible for our guests to have an enjoyable dining experience and ensuring that maximum profitability is achieved. In the absence of The Restaurant & Bar Manager the Assistant Restaurant & Bar Manager will lead all aspects of the business while transforming the current restaurant into a desired establishment.

 

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Assist in overseeing the Food & Beverage operation in the restaurant and bar with an oversight administration wise as well as operationally.  Furthermore, ensuring consistency through offerings, personalized service, facility maintenance and Peninsula expectations
  • Support the Restaurant & Bar Manager in his absence with potential coverage, elevated projects, responsibilities, and administrative duties.
  • Play an active role in the department having heavy interaction with guests and providing guidance and support for staff leading by example.
  • Build database with guest preferences/details from personal and team interactivity on the floor.
  • Work closely with Public Relations, Rooms, Marketing, Culinary and F&B Management to develop ideas, continue to evolve, increase revenue, and profit margins.
  • Ensure that liquor is served responsibly, and that laws and regulations are followed.
  • Ensure that all areas in the restaurant and bar are well maintained, clean, neat, and up to par always.
  • Observe the appearance of dishes as they are served to guests to ensure quality, presentation, and portion consistency.

 

 

General Requirements:

 

  • University degree or higher in a relevant field. Degree in Hospitality or Hotel Management a plus.
  • 2 years minimum in a luxury restaurant and or bar operations in a supervisory or lead role or hotel front of house, sales and marketing expertise, and financial acumen.
  • Ability to communicate well with all levels of management, staff, and guests.
  • Self-starter; creative; independent, but team-oriented; presentation, and problem-solving skills; analytical; socially adept; detailed-oriented and organized; goals and results-oriented and articulate.
  • Vision of quality restaurant and bar concept, limitless energy, and motivation to succeed; positive and “can-do” professional attitude. PR & social media savvy.
