Mixologist Studio Bartender

The Peninsula London is pleased to announce we are seeking a Mixology Studio Bartender to join the beverage department, reporting to the Director of Mixologist. This is a critical position accountable for the efficient operations of the Studio. Resolves relevant requests from the beverage department while ensuring the functioning of the laboratory, maximizing the production, and maintaining the highest quality possible of bespoke ingredients.

Key Accountabilities 

• Work closely with the Director of Mixology to operate the Studio.
• Maintain an efficient organisation and cleanliness of the Studio.
• Carry out inventories on a regular basis.
• Manage the cold room, list the preparations, and plan the workload.
• Carry out the necessary preparations for the operation of the bars.
• Rigorously follow recipes of preparations to ensure the consistency.
• Handle and use various technical equipment e.g. Centrifuge, micropipette, sous vide machine, thernocirculator, cold press, thermomix scales.
• Assist with the management of health and safety.
• Time management and ability to work without close supervision.
• Assist the Director of Mixology and Head Bartenders in creating menu items, recipes and developing cocktails.

General Requirements 

• Good knowledge of cocktail preparation of both classics and innovative alternatives with previous experience within a cocktail bar at a luxury level.  
• Understanding of differing ingredients and how they come together. Large understanding and awareness of beverage items.
• Ability and competence to use complex equipment to make beverages.
• Experience in a lab or as a bartender at least 1 year.
• Driven by precision and consistency and high level of attention to details. 
• Excellent time management and organizational skills, highly adaptable, naturally positive. 
• Flexibility, and capability of working under pressure.
