Key accountabilities
- Controls and monitors productivity level and efficiency of the Housekeeping Department.
- Is responsible for annual review and creation of the housekeeping budget in accordance with the wider hotel business plans and objectives, and compiles capital expenditures for the department.
- Adheres to financial budgets and forecasts by maintaining effective cost control, and initiates and conducts regular inventory of the hotel’s linen and guest room supplies. Is responsible for monthly analysis and presentation of all departmental expenses.
- Oversees and manages staffing levels including payroll expenses, overtime etc. in accordance with budgetary guidelines and required service levels.
- Seeks out improvement across hygiene, service standards and quality whilst championing and anticipating guest needs.
- Ensures all rooms are in excellent condition prior to arrival and respective amenities and room setup is as expected. Inspects hotel rooms, public and heart of the house areas to ensure the physical product is representative of Peninsula, clean and well-maintained with identified issues to be communicated with the respective department.
- Ensures all equipment is maintained and used accordingly whilst ensuring a safe workplace.
- Hires, develops, motivates, supervises, and coaches department employees in maintaining a culture in compliance with mission, vision, values, and cores principles HSH.
General requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position within luxury hotels
- Hands on knowledge of luxury housekeeping operations, including uniform, laundry, and large-scale public area operations.
- Financial and labor management acumen, adept at cost control.
- Ability to communicate well with all levels of management.
- Exceptional presentation and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical, detailed oriented and organized.
- Fluent in English language proficiency.
