Talent Acquisition Manager, Asia

The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels (owner and operator of The Peninsula Hotels as well as various high-profile global assets) is seeking to hire a Talent Acquisition Manager, Asia to support the expansion and continued development of the centre of excellence. Based in the Hong Kong corporate office, the critical objective for this position is to support the transformation of the TA function through the enablement of employer branding, candidate experience and technology as well as champion best practice sourcing and selection for key positions across the Asia region.

Reporting to the global TA leader, this position will have direct engagement with senior stakeholders across Greater China, Japan, Thailand, Philippines, and Vietnam, as well as key corporate functions such as Sales and Marketing, Technology etc. 

  
Key accountabilities

  • Oversee the pre and post selection processes for key leadership positions to ensure the delivery of memorable and genuine candidate experiences.
  • Support the development and implementation employer branding initiatives (online and offline) to engage and attract high calibre talent within the luxury hospitality, retail, and commercial real estate sectors.
  • Identify and pilot market-specific branding / attraction channels and tools (specifically digital sourcing technologies) to ensure HSH, Peninsula and other portfolio brands are represented within the respective employment markets. 
  • Support the development of an early careers framework
  • Cultivate relationships with industry partners and institutions to support talent pipelining.
  • Manage the enhancement of the ATS / system reporting to enable efficiency and performance deliverables as well as the ongoing delivery of user training.
  • Oversee the enhancement of the candidate care program.
  • Advise senior hiring managers to ensure best practices and market intelligence is cultivated across the portfolio.
  • Identify talent and skill gaps, ensuring HR and hiring teams are equipped with proactive sourcing methodologies and tools.
  • Support the continued development of TA COE resources and process digitisation.
  • Support and champion all regional and corporate TA programmes by adding accreditive value and input to the function.

 

General requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Talent Acquisition Lead in the luxury, tourism, retail, or real estate sectors. Exposure to headhunting methodologies is highly advantageous.
  • APAC based country or regional leadership experience. 
  • Interpersonal, influencing skills and leadership qualities.
  • Possess a performance, continuous improvement and a high curiosity mindset.
  • Sales & marketing experience (branding, digital programming, sales pipelining etc). 
  • Experience / exposure to digital channel management, content creation and technology is highly sought.
  • Fluent English proficiency (Cantonese would be highly advantageous).
  • Exceptional personal presentation as this role will be a brand ambassador. 
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications, e.g. Word, Excel, OneNote.
  • In-depth experience utilising an ATS (SuccessFactors, Workday, PageUp, or similar)
