Manager, Food & Beverage Concept Development

The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels (owner and operator of The Peninsula Hotels, The Repulse Bay and many high-profile assets dotted around the world) is seeking a newly created role of Manager, Lifestyle and Restaurants to be based in our Corporate Office. This role will report to the Vice President, Food & Beverage Operations and will be required to design, manage and facilitate restaurant concepts and lifestyle venues in both Hong Kong and international locations.

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Conduct market research and analysis supporting free-standing restaurants (FSR) and lifestyle concept development
  • Evaluate various business opportunities, by assessing concept development factors such as financial feasibility/sustainability, legal and license requirements, guest journey, culinary programming and people & culture planning etc.
  • Ensure continuous communication with Lifestyle Taskforce (LTF), HSH stakeholders and external third parties
  • Collaborate closely with finance team to ensure strong internal rate of return (IRR)
  • Partner with head office Sales & Marketing team to assist with strategy development, marketing, communications, restaurant CRM and website development etc.
  • Conduct research, recommend and participate in the technology systems tendering process, that are suitable for the concept scale by collaborating with the internal technology team 

 
General requirements

 

  • Degree holder or above of Business, Hospitality or related disciplines
  • Experience in F&B projects and operational management gained from restaurant group or hotel
  • Experience with restaurant / bar openings and/or Michelin dining and nightlife venues
  • International F&B experience is advantageous
  • Fluent English communication (verbal / written) including being comfortable speaking to an audience
  • Analytical and independent mindset, capable of engaging with individuals at all levels within the organisation
